The NYU Center for the Study of AntisemitismThe NYU Center for the Study of Antisemitism
OverviewOverview
The NYU Center for the Study of Antisemitism is a leading institution dedicated to researching and addressing the critical issue of antisemitism in contemporary society. The Center’s work is essential in understanding and combating hate, and its digital presence must reflect the gravity and importance of its mission. This proposal outlines a comprehensive plan to revamp the Center’s website, enhance its branding, and implement a cohesive digital strategy to broaden its reach and impact.
WebsiteWebsite
The current website serves as the primary digital gateway for the Center, but it requires modernization to meet the needs of a global audience. We propose a complete redesign of the site to improve usability, accessibility, and engagement. Key enhancements will include:
- Responsive Design: Ensuring optimal viewing on all devices, from desktops to mobile phones.
- User Experience (UX): Simplifying navigation, improving content structure, and ensuring key information is easy to find.
- Content Management System (CMS): Implementing a user-friendly CMS that allows the NYU team to easily update content and manage the site.
- Event Management System: Developing a tailored solution that includes seamless integration with current CRM systems and additional ticketing platforms.
- Application System for Fellows: Streamlining the application process for Post-doctorate Fellows and Visiting Scholars to ensure a smooth approval workflow that automatically updates the website with relevant information.
- Security: Enhancing site security to protect sensitive information and maintain user trust.
- Accessibility: Adhering to WCAG 2.1 AA standards to ensure the website is fully accessible to users with disabilities.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Optimizing content and site structure to improve search engine rankings and visibility.
BrandingBranding
The branding of the Center must reflect its authority, gravitas, and commitment to education and justice. We propose a brand refresh that will include:
- Logo Redesign: A modernized logo that remains respectful of the Center's history while appealing to contemporary audiences.
- Color Palette: A refined color scheme that evokes trust, seriousness, and approachability.
- Typography: Selecting fonts that are both professional and accessible.
- Imagery: Curating images that resonate with the Center’s mission, including archival photos, contemporary artwork, and visual representations of data and research.
Digital StrategyDigital Strategy
A comprehensive digital strategy will ensure the Center’s message reaches a wider audience and fosters deeper engagement. Key elements include:
- Social Media Integration: Strengthening the Center’s presence on platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook to engage with academics, students, and the broader community.
- Content Strategy: Developing a plan for regular blog posts, research updates, and multimedia content that will keep the audience engaged and informed.
- Email Marketing: Implementing a robust email marketing strategy to share news, events, and publications with subscribers. This marketing will integrate with the website's Event System.
- Analytics and Reporting: Connecting to Google Analytics to track the performance of digital campaigns, website traffic, and user engagement to inform ongoing strategy adjustments.
- Community Engagement: Creating forums, discussion boards, or interactive features that encourage dialogue among scholars, students, and the public.
- The Center Podcast: Bivins Brothers Creative has experience developing podcasts, from consultation in purchasing recording software/hardware, editing, graphic design and hosting.
